Deepest Dorset Today is conventionally

Deepest Dorset.

Today is conventionally celebrated as Mr. Gurdjieff's birthday. I was invited to a lunch feast in Deep Dorset by AH, who was on Sherborne IV & remained on Sherborne V. Also at the feast was CW from my year, Pierre Elliot, who was with Mr. Gurdjieff in Paris, & his daughter Sarah, and some other people from the West Country interested in Mr. Bennett's ideas.

Pierre presented two stories of life with Mr. Gurdjieff: one a teacher, one of life at the table in Paris. Pierre is one of the six people still living who worked directly with Mr. G.

The drive to Deep Dorset, and back, is through breathtaking countryside. The recent building which interrupts this paradise, savage little wens upon this face of beauty, is just as breathtaking.

This evening Micahel & Polly Legg, antique dealers of Dorchester & good friends since c. 1982, visited this evening for a "take us as you find us" meal of tasty health food pasties from Salisbury Healthfood, local lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, & Dorset Blue Vinny cheese smeared on village granary fabbo bread.
